U=U. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

U=U simply stands for Undetectable = Untransmissible which means that someone living with HIV who adheres to his or her treatment has a very low amount of the HIV virus in their body, called undetectable, and is no longer able to transmit the virus to another person by sexual means, called untransmittable. A proper universal understanding of U=U breaks stigma and discrimination, promotes procreation and improves the quality of life of people living with and affected by HIV.
